Face off Against Breast Cancer - Hockey Tournament!

2013 FOABC TourneyIn another non-real estate related blog post, I'd like to put a shout out regarding my upcoming hockey tournament in Middlebury coming up next month. I am playing with my women's team, the Waterbury Wicked. Yes, that's me in the photo...top row, second in from the right. This is the annual Face Off Against Breast Cancer tournament that raises money for cancer patient support services in Vermont. It's a great cause and always a good time. If you have a few extra dollars during this holiday season, a small pledge would be greatly appreciated. Last year our team WON our division championship!

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Cancer Patient Support Programs (CPSP), a Vermont-based aid organization. Funds are designated toward patient services and the emergency fund. CPSP serves patients statewide; they have had requests from every county in the state. The Patient Services include counseling and nutrional support for the patient and his/her family. CPSPs Emergency Fund provides short-term, emergency financial relief to local patients in need. This important program addresses the hidden impacts that cancer can have on families: it aids those who, because of cancer, have lost their jobs and may lose their car or home because they are in treatment; those who are too sick to work, or who have soaring medical expenses and limited co-pays; or those who have no insurance coverage at all. All of CPSP's services are offered free of charge.

If you are able to make a donation, you can do so directly on my personal pledge website. Thank you in advance and have a very happy holiday season!!

My New Car. Waterbury Real Estate Update.

VW GolfThis week I want to tell you about my new car. It's a VW Golf TDI. I love it. How does this relate to real estate? It doesn't really. ALTHOUGH, I get about 40 miles per gallon so with all the driving I do for work, it's much better for the environment. And, my hockey bag fits just perfectly in the back. And, it's got a great blue tooth system so it's safer for me when I'm talking on the phone, eating skittles, and drinking coffee all at the same time.

Also, I sold 131 South Main Street in Waterbury which was extremely fortuitous. I found the perfect buyer and we even closed a week early! And, I had both sides of the transaction! What a great way to finish up the year. I'm also feeling grateful for some excellent listings to start off 2014.
