Real Estate update in Waterbury, Vermont

It's been a busy week here at Century 21 Jack Associates in Waterbury! Our office closed 9 transaction sides last week (includes both buyer and seller sides) and Tina Golon, our newest member of the family, had the biggest sale of her career. Congratulations Tina! And on that note, the market continues to heat up. Locally, the prices aren't necessarily going up YET, but the inventory is down and the number of transactions sold and pending is growing. Ultimately, this will lead to a rise in prices as the demand grows. The properties in Waterbury and Duxburyunder $300,000 tend to be the best sellers currently. Nationwide, the National Association of Realtorsreports that sales and prices are up to the highest level they've been in three years. This is certainly encouraging!

I have recently listed a condominium in downtown Waterbury that is truly luxurious. If you are interested in having easy access to the highway, the grocery store, the mountain bike trails, the ice rink, any number of fabulous restaurants, world class golf, etc., this location cannot be beat. Waterbury, Vermont Real Estate News

This week, since I'm not feeling terribly enlightened by anything major, I am going to give you a mish mash of information. This goes along with our mish mash of weird Vermont weather...first sun, then rain, then snow, then cold, then warm. Love it. Still, the skiing is fabulous and at the same time I'm getting very excited about biking. Like I said, a mish mash. And I'm not even sure that's a real expression, but I believe eveyone knows what I'm talking about.

First of all, the market is really heating up. Regarding the Waterbury and Duxbury residential market, which I keep close tabs on, there are currently 10properties pending or contingent. This is a great improvement over the past few years at this time. And, I am proud to say that my wonderful Century 21 Jack Associates agents have 10 sides pending (either the buyer or seller side of the transaction) of those 10, which gives us 50% market share. This is outstanding! Way to go ladies!

Secondly, I am also pleased to report that a bill in the Vermont House Committee on Ways and Means that included language to put a cap on the Mortgage Interest Deduction (MID) was responded to very strongly by Vermont Realtors. As a result, that portion of the bill was removed and that very important part of homeownerhsip in Vermont has been preserved.
